Biography
Akbar Cheraghi was a 35-year-old deaf and neurodivergent man, reportedly on the autism spectrum and with a speech impediment, who volunteered as a cleaner at the Deaf Association office. Hailing from Qom, he was killed by security forces in the Tohid neighborhood of Tehran on January 8, 2026. Reports state he was shot during protests, unable to hear the gunfire and thus unable to flee.
اکبر چراغی، مردی ۳۵ ساله، ناشنوا، نورودایورجنت طیف اُتیسم و دارای اختلال در گفتار بود که به عنوان نظافتچی داوطلب در دفتر انجمن ناشنوایان کار میکرد. او اهل قم بود و در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در محله توحید تهران توسط نیروهای امنیتی کشته شد. گزارشها حاکی از آن است که وی در جریان اعتراضات با شلیک گلوله جان باخت و به دلیل ناشنوایی قادر به شنیدن صدای گلوله و فرار نبوده است.
